Don: Very nice, bud! I looked hard at those neat little EMP's when they first came out, and lamented that 9mm was the only chambering. Now that they also make it in a "real" caliber, I just might have to take another look at that little pocket rocket.

Congrats, be sure to let us know your initial range impressions. :D

I shot one of those in 40 S&W a couple of years back and I really liked it. They're nice but they're pricy too. All of them I've seen are up into the high $900 to $1000 dollar range.

Enjoy,

Jim

Rick, I have 100 rounds of fmj thru it now, and one mag of hp's. It has a real stiff recoil spring and I didn't work it hard enuff on the first round. That was the only problem I encountered on the first trip, other than 2 extracted brass came strait back in the face.... Will run a couple 100 more thru it this weekend, and let a couple pards play with 'er.......

I offer the following for discussion purposes only.

About 20 years ago, the perfect carry pistol didn't exist. What I wanted was something safe to carry and packing immense knock down power. Then S&W came out with the solution.

With 7 .45ACP hollow point loads and round in the chamber, safety off carry in a stainless compact frame (something which would be dangerous in a S/A) they had the answer. (They also have D/A only autos, but having cut my teeth on a 1911, I'm not prepared to go there.)

I have the earlier version of the lower one. .40 Auto shown in center.

The double action is a little bit tricky at first, but I found that you just have to keep your eyes on that front sight throughout the entire firing process. Then it becomes easy.
